Latest Manchester City injury news as Erling Haaland requires stitches ahead of next weekend's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland disclosed he has suffered a cut to his face that required stitches during the ongoing international break.
This comes exactly one week before the first Manchester derby of the 2025/26 campaign.
Haaland scored three goals for City before the September break to lead the Premier League's golden boot race.
Once they return to action, Pep Guardiola's side have a tough run of fixtures hosting United, then Napoli as the Champions League gets underway before a league visit to Arsenal.
The Norwegian kept up his scoring form in an international friendly against Finland on Thursday but has now shown off a wound to his social media followers. Bizarrely, he did not actually sustain it on the field of play.
A selfie posted to Haaland's public Snapchat account on Sunday afternoon showed off a cut under the right side of his lip, which had been patched up. There was evidence of blood on the 25-year-old's face around the wound.
The City star provided a simple explanation, writing: "Just got banged out by a bus door [thumbs up emoji] 3 stitches [laughing face emoji]."

At least Haaland could see the bright side of the unfortunate injury, continuing to joke about it. In another snap he carried on by saying: "Looks actually quite good."
There is bound to be an explanation come out from Norway manager Stale Solbakken ahead of the country's upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Moldova in Oslo on Tuesday, September 9.
If Haaland is passed fit to play then that would be a good indicator Guardiola will have nothing to worry about ahead of United's visit to the Etihad Stadium for the Manchester derby next Sunday.
