Man City, Tottenham Hit With Positive Update Regarding PSG Target Interest

2 days ago 41

Maghnes Akliouche has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in this summer’s transfer window, attracting interest from PSG and Manchester City following a standout season with AS Monaco. At 23, he has cemented himself as one of Ligue 1’s top talents, and a move abroad appears increasingly possible.

According to a previous report from L’Équipe, Manchester United have now joined the race, raising the prospect of a bidding war with their Premier League rivals.

Monaco are reportedly asking between €70 million and €80 million for the midfielder, a high price that hasn’t deterred any of the clubs tracking him, making a summer transfer seem more likely.

The Mirror recently noted that Tottenham have scouted Akliouche, though it remains unclear whether they plan to act immediately or wait before making a move.

On Saturday, Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported that Bayer 04 Leverkusen now view their chances of signing Akliouche as slim. While he remains a dream target, the price and competition have made a deal unlikely.

Manchester City have now entered the race for the 23-year-old and Plettenberg adds that Akliouche is undoubtedly one to watch as Deadline Day approaches.

In May, 90min France reported that Manchester City and PSG have recently stepped up their interest, making a summer departure more likely. Monaco are now believed to be asking for around €70 million.

Pep Guardiola is reportedly a fan of Akliouche’s left-footed playmaking and ability to fill multiple roles, qualities that could make him a natural fit to succeed Bernardo Silva.
