Manchester City return from the international break riding a seven-game unbeaten run across all competitions. Pep Guardiola’s side have won three of their last four Premier League matches and have kept clean sheets in five of their ten fixtures so far this season. However, the Citizens have only managed to score more than two goals in three of those ten games, so a goal-fest on Saturday seems unlikely.
Everton, meanwhile, secured all three points in their final match before the break, defeating a Crystal Palace side that had been unbeaten in their previous 19 games across all competitions. Despite that result, David Moyes’ team have lost two of their last four fixtures, conceding exactly two goals in each of those defeats.
Manchester City have not lost to Everton in any competition since 2017 and earned a 2-0 victory when the sides last met in April. Guardiola’s men have taken all three points in seven of their last nine encounters with the Toffees, scoring at least twice in six of those matches and keeping six clean sheets.
