Manchester United is interested in signing Alexis Mac Allister from Liverpool.
As first reported by Mirror Football on Monday, the Red Devils are considering a shock bid for Mac Allister, 27, this summer. The midfielder was a key part of Liverpool's Premier League title-winning side last season, but it's been a different story this time around.
Mac Allister picked up an injury toward the end of last season and struggled to finish games at the beginning of this campaign as the problem lingered. He's been slowly regaining his form and fitness over recent weeks, but speculation about his future continues.

It's claimed that staff at Old Trafford are keeping a close eye on Mac Allister's situation on Merseyside. The Red Devils are expected to revamp their midfield this summer, with Casemiro leaving the club once his contract expires in June.
Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton, Brighton's Carlos Baleba and Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson are also said to be on United's radar.

Perhaps those three are more realistic options for the Red Devils, as persuading Liverpool to sell Mac Allister to a direct rival will be extremely difficult. No player has moved directly between Liverpool and United since Phil Chisnall left Old Trafford for Anfield in 1964.
Michael Owen, who won the Premier League title at United after clinching the Ballon d'Or with Liverpool, and Paul Ince, who became the captain at Anfield after spending six seasons at Old Trafford, are arguably the two biggest players to represent both clubs.
Mac Allister started his professional career at Argentinos Juniors in his homeland before joining Brighton in 2019. He became one of the Premier League's best central midfielders during his time on the south coast, earning a move to Anfield in 2023.
Mac Allister helped Liverpool win the Carabao Cup during his first season on Merseyside before clinching the Premier League title last May. The Reds are under no pressure to sell the midfielder this summer; he's under contract until June 2028.
But if Liverpool decides to cash in on Mac Allister, Spain appears to be his most likely destination. The midfielder has made no secret of his desire to play in Spain one day. "It's a country I like a lot, and I’ve visited it several times," he said earlier this season.
"And, above all, because of the language and the culture, it’s very similar to Argentina. I would definitely like to play in Spain one day.
"But right now, I’m very comfortable at Liverpool, and I don’t think about what might happen in the future."
Mac Allister has also spent time on loan at Boca Juniors, winning the Argentinian title, and he's achieved plenty of success with his national team. He helped Argentina win the World Cup and the Finalissima in 2022, as well as the Copa America in 2024.
