PSG are facing growing uncertainty in goal, with Lucas Chevalier being considered as a potential long-term option. While Gianluigi Donnarumma remains under contract until 2026, talks over an extension have stalled with no agreement in sight.
Now, Manchester United could be preparing to reshuffle their goalkeeper depth chart—with Donnarumma reportedly on their radar.
According to L’Équipe, Donnarumma began contemplating a move away from PSG before the end of last season, despite publicly reaffirming his commitment to the club.
Both Manchester United and Manchester City have shown interest in the Italian goalkeeper since June. PSG are hoping to secure a deal for Chevalier before making any final decision on Donnarumma’s future.
More confirmation that Man City, Man Utd eye PSG star

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reports that Donnarumma hasn’t left PSG yet, but his agents are actively exploring the market to find him a potential landing spot.
The Italian goalkeeper is said to have several options, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Galatasaray, and clubs from Saudi Arabia showing interest. However, Donnarumma remains committed to PSG and is expected to leave only if a project fully convinces him.
Internally, PSG are not ruling out the possibility of Donnarumma and Chevalier competing for the starting role, with Luis Enrique set to make the final decision, per Hawkins.

However, Manchester United may not be in a position to make a move. According to the Manchester Evening News, the club doesn’t currently have a budget for a new No. 1 goalkeeper.
Even so, Onana is not expected to leave. He’s reportedly committed to staying at Manchester United and has been assured he won’t be sold or replaced.
