Chelsea star Cole Palmer has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but any deal would cost the Red Devils a hefty amount

Manchester United have been told Cole Palmer will cost them £200million if they want to buy the Chelsea talisman this summer.

The 23-year-old made the move to Stamford Bridge from Manchester City in 2023, with the Blues paying their Premier League rivals around £40million. The England international managed 42 goal contributions in 48 appearances in his first season in west London, before contributing 18 goals and 14 assists the following campaign.

Palmer's attacking output has slowed down somewhat this season (10 goals and three assists in 25 appearances), although Enzo Maresca's departure and Liam Rosenior coming in may not have helped the Chelsea star. This has led to reports linking the attacking midfielder to Manchester United, who Palmer apparently supported as a child.

football.london understands, however, Chelsea view Palmer as untouchable and are not open to allowing him to leave Stamford Bridge anytime soon. Scott Sinclair believes if Man Utd do want to sign Palmer, it would cost a Premier League record fee.

Speaking to OLBG, Sinclair said: "Cole Palmer is a quality player and we all know his attributes. It's about finding him, getting him on the ball, facing forward to attack players, and creating. For me, he's a player who can change a game in an instant. When he gets forward and he's on it, he's a top player.

"His links to Man Utd? I'm not sure. From the outside, I think he seems happy enough and is enjoying his football. We just need to get that top, top level form back. I don't think he'd be looking elsewhere.

"If Chelsea don't make the Champions League spot, then that's up to him to decide. But Chelsea is a massive club and I don't think any player would want to leave.

"He's a top player, probably one of the best in the Premier League. I'm sure that sort of price tag, maybe £200 million, will come along. He's contracted and signed a long deal, so only time will tell."

Rosenior was asked about the rumours linking Palmer with an exit at the start of the year. He said: "It's simple, Cole's an incredible player. I'm not surprised at the timing [of the rumours]. A new manager comes in and all of a sudden there's people unsettled.

"It's not true. Cole's here, he's very happy and I can't wait to see him back on the pitch."
