Arsenal are on the verge of sealing a summer transfer window to remember with Tottenham's move for Eberechi Eze hijacked. The Gunners' north London rivals appeared poised to sign Eze from Crystal Palace - but Andrea Berta and Co. look to have swooped in at the eleventh hour.
A final agreement with Spurs was very nearly in place but, once Arsenal returned to the table, it was unlikely he was going anywhere but Emirates Stadium. football.london understands that Arsenal had been his preference - having played for the club as a youngster and supported them, too.
It is understood that the 27-year-old will feature for Palace in their UEFA Conference League clash against Fredrikstad at Selhurst Park this evening before having a medical at London Colney on Friday.
Though spending looks set to go over £250million, Berta still has a number of jobs to complete and seeing how quickly Arsenal acted after their injury setback, to Kai Havertz, an eighth signing cannot be ruled out. With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at everything that could happen over the next 11 days;
Eze transfer sealed
It has become very clear, over the last 12 or so hours, that Eze will be joining Arsenal. For roughly £68million to spent, it suggests that there are real worries over Havertz's injury blow with Eze set to become the club's most expensive summer arrival.
The England international is versatile enough to cover a number of roles, but it does seem most likely that he will play more frequently off the left while also providing more than adequate depth in central areas.
If everything goes to plan, Eze could make his Arsenal debut against Leeds United on Saturday evening, but it is more likely he is given the weekend off as he will be playing for Palace just 48 hours earlier.
£34m signing made
Arsenal are now much more prepared in attack for the 2025/2026 season taking into account Eze's imminent arrival. However, as Arteta discovered brutally earlier this year, a few injuries can drastically change that.
It is therefore no surprise that the Gunners are still looking at possible further incomings. According to L'Equipe, Lyon's Malick Fofana has been added to Arsenal's shortlist for the final stages of the summer window.
Another attacking injury could result in them acting on that decision especially now a senior exit in attack is unlikely following news of Leandro Trossard's contract extension. Other Premier League clubs have shown an interest in the 20-year-old with the French outfit wanting £34.6million (€40m) to sell.

Four exits
To have a real chance of hitting Fofana's asking price, Arsenal will need to make some permanent sales. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira and Jakub Kiwior have all been linked to exits - with it likely all four will need to depart in order for funds to be reinvested.
The latter is of concrete interest to Porto and Arsenal may have to ease their demands for that exit to happen with further spending in mind. Nelson joining Fulham is still seemingly on even with their focus elsewhere, though a loan is most likely to happen.
Vieira is another that can seal a temporary move away, but at least with on obligation-to-buy included in his hopeful switch to Stuttgart, but again the club's financial stance will have to change.
Moving on Zinchenko could be the most difficult with no concrete interest present from elsewhere and it now appearing as a real possibility that he could ultimately see out the final 12 months of his contract.
