Man United are set for one of the biggest games of the season when they host Manchester City at Old Trafford this lunchtime.
Manchester United interim head coach Michael Carrick will be feeling the weight of the job this afternoon when he takes charge of the Reds against Manchester City in the Premier League. Regardless of form or league positions, there is always an expectation on United to pick up a result in this game.
Adding to the pressure is the fact that this is Carrick's first game as interim head coach since returning to the club. In defence, it is expected the Reds' new manager will lean towards experience for a game of this magnitude. Harry Maguire could partner Lisandro Martinez in central defence.

Sitting in front of them is likely to be Casemiro. Ordinarily you would think Kobbie Mainoo would be in the deeper role next to Casemiro but Carrick's recent comments about the midfielder being better suited to attacking and his lack of minutes this season perhaps suggest Manuel Ugarte will keep his place in midfield. That means the Bruno Fernandes will occupy the attacking midfield role.
Bryan Mbeumo's return is a very welcome boost for Carrick. It was a disappointing AFCON for United's top goalscorer but he could be given the nod over Amad on the right.
Matheus Cunha has done well cutting in from the left side and he will be hoping to provide striker Benjamin Sesko with plenty of chances. The Slovenian has hit a purple patch recently and Carrick will give him the opportunity to continue that form against City.
