Matt Wells has said an emotional farewell to Tottenham Hotspur as he departs the club to begin his managerial career.
Thomas Frank has no shortage of problems to deal with at the moment as he tries to turn around Tottenham’s form and get the team back to winning ways.
The Dane has now suffered yet another setback as his assistant coach has now departed the club.
Spurs have confirmed that Matt Wells has parted ways with the club, with the 37-year-old set to take charge of the Colorado Rapids ahead of the new Major League Soccer season.

Matt Wells admits Tottenham journey has been fulfillment of a dream
Wells has taken to social media to take us through his journey of starting out as a Spurs fan and making his way through the club’s academy before becoming a coach.
He admitted that it was a special moment when he helped the club end their 17-year trophy drought to win the Europa League back in May.
Wells wrote on Instagram: “Born in Chase Farm Hospital, the grandson of a true Spurs legend, who first joined the club as an 8-year-old academy player and went on to become the Assistant Manager as we lifted the Europa League.
“So many incredible things happened in between as I progressed through the ranks from U9 to U18 and eventually embarked on my coaching journey with nearly every age group from 13’s to 21’s.
“Too many pivotal people to list who have helped shape me into the person I am today, but it’s impossible not to mention Ugo Ehiogu who has been with me every step of the way. Simply put, my Tottenham journey adds up to a dream come true. Time for me to go and prove my worth as a Head Coach.”
Spurs may soon lose another senior staff member
Frank has confirmed that Tottenham will hire a new coach to replace Wells, but he may not be the only man that the North London club have to replace.
Reports indicate that Fabio Paratici is in line to become Fiorentina’s head of football, with the Italian potentially set to vacate his sporting director role at Spurs just two months after joining.
However, reports indicate that Tottenham have not received any communication from Fiorentina or Paratici so far as they nervously wait to see what happens regarding the 53-year-old.
