Arsenal youngster Max Dowman has continued his record-breaking form while on international duty with England's Under-19s.
This season, the teenager made his Premier League debut for Arsenal at the age of 15, during their 5-0 win over Leeds United last month. He became the second youngest player to do so in Premier League history, behind teammate Ethan Nwaneri.
Dowman also made a substitute appearance against Liverpool last weekend and has been named in Arsenal's Champions League squad. Following previous appearances for England Under-17s, the midfielder earned a call-up to the Three Lions' Under-19 squad for this month's fixtures.
He came on against Ukraine in midweek and as a result, he became the youngest player ever to feature for England Under-19s since the age group was established in the 2001–02 season.
Dowman was then handed his first start against Spain and went on to win a penalty in the 3-3 draw - becoming the youngest ever starter for the Under-19s in the process.
Dowman has developed a knack for winning penalties - having earned spot-kicks in two pre-season games for Arsenal as well as in the match against Leeds.
"His age is his age, but his football ability is his football ability," the Under-19s boss Will Antwi said.
"I'm not gambling because he already played for Arsenal.
"As we saw today, he has the ability to attack; to attack really well. In football, when you’re good enough, you’re old enough, and he can play at this level.
"If you didn’t know his age and you saw him playing football, he makes the difference."
The Young Lions will conclude their friendly fixtures on Tuesday against the Netherlands, offering Dowman another opportunity to showcase his talent.
After that, he will return to the Emirates Stadium and look to be involved in Arsenal's home match against Nottingham Forest on September 13 (12:30pm).
