After all, is there a better debate to get us in the mood for the World Cup?

Many will point to James McFadden's long-range stunner away to France in 2007. Others, of a slightly older vintage, will say none beat Archie Gemmell waltzing his way through the Dutch defence in 1978.

A beautiful night against Denmark at Hampden in November produced not one, not two, but three contenders. Scott McTominay's incredible overhead kick, Kieran Tierney's curled effort from the edge of the box and Kenny McLean's sensational lob from the halfway line.

It's hard to chose between Leigh Griffiths' pair of amazing free-kicks against England in the summer of 2017.
