Alexander Isak took part in training for the first time on Wednesday, but he did not train alongside many players that he will be training with on a regular basis over the course of the season.
That's because the Swedish striker reported for duty at the AXA Training Center one day earlier than the rest of the Reds stars who were on international duty over the last few days.
The vast majority of Liverpool's first-team players were called up to represent their nations during the break, with only Jeremie Frimpong, Joe Gomez, Curtis Jones, Federico Chiesa, and youngster Stefan Bajcetic not called up by their countries.
The players who were on international duty were not due to return to training until Thursday, but Isak, who only featured for Sweden for a few minutes, was back on Wednesday.
That meant a number of the club's young players were called up to train alongside Isak and Co on Wednesday, with the following 18 academy players all involved:
Goalkeeper: Fabian Mrozek
Defenders: Wellity Lucky, Carter Pinnington, Lucas Pitt, Emmanuel Airoboma, Terence Miles, Josh Davidson
Midfielders: Michael Laffey, Tommy Pilling, Ben Trueman, Afolami Onanuga
Forwards: Jayden Danns, Kieran Morrison, Will Wright, Kaide Gordon, Keyrol Figueroa, Kareem Ahmed, Oakley Cannonier
Isak could make his debut when Liverpool's season resumes with a trip to Burnley on Sunday, when the club will be looking to maintain its 100 percent start to the campaign.
Liverpool is the favorite to retain the title — something the club has not achieved since 1984 — and it is the club's thirst for silverware that convinced Isak to move to Anfield.
"I feel amazing," Isak told Liverpool media after sealing his move to Merseyside. "It’s been a long journey to get here.
"But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club, and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it."
Explaining why Liverpool was the club that Isak wanted to join, he said: "I think it’s a mixture of what the club is building, but what they’re building on top of what the club already is. The history of the club.
"Me getting the chance to be a part of this, I want to create history. I want to win trophies.
"That’s ultimately the biggest motivation for me, and I feel like this is the perfect place for me to grow even further and to take my game to the next level and help the team as well."
