Mikel Arteta has already given his backing to Arsenal involvement in major transfer moves after claims made over Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Arsenal have reportedly investigated a potential summer move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The PSG winger has become one of the most highly-appreciated and therefore sought-after players on the planet since his move from Napoli.
According to the Independent, any move for the Georgian forward is “extremely complicated” with the Parisian side not keen to let one of their star players go. Yet there are some factors that suggest a move has even just a modicum of potential.
Despite never wanting to lose their top players, PSG have shown a willingness to sell if the right situation and offer come along. Last summer, they sold Gianluigi Donnarumma to Manchester City.

Manuel Ugarte, Hugo Ekitike and Xavi Simons were all sold the season prior. Even Neymar was prized away when big money from Al-Hilal came along.
On the Arsenal side, Mikel Arteta, speaking in 2024 when it emerged that Kylian Mbappe could be leaving Paris, spoke very openly on the topic. This was a surprise at the time, considering how guarded and dismissive the Spaniard can be when asked about players of other clubs.
"Exactly," he replied when asked if the club was interested, why couldn’t Arsenal be a potential destination for the eventual Real Madrid-bound striker? "Why not? If we want to be the best team, then you need to have the best players, that's for sure."
Arteta has always been very big on the club being an attractive place for any player, adding, "The club that we are, I don't think that's ever been an issue. Everyone wants to play for Arsenal.
"At least with the players we've discussed, they've always had a smile on their face when you open the door to that discussion. That's because of our history and everything we've done in the past."
Lastly, on Mbappe, he said, "When there is a player of that calibre, we always have to be in that conversation. But it looks in a different way, that's what I would say."
As mentioned, Mbappe would leave for Madrid with the finances involved being gargantuan despite the lack of a transfer fee, with the Frenchman’s contract with the French capital club coming to a close.
Yet the likelihood of an Arsenal move, which would certainly require a monumental transfer fee, might be challenging on the player’s side. Speaking recently about Paris, Kvaratskhelia could not have been more infatuated with his latest home.
He said in an interview with Le Parisien: “Paris, for me, is truly incredible. You have everything here, and on top of that, it’s the city of love. When PSG called me, I think my wife was the happiest person in the world.
"Before PSG contacted me, she always said, ‘Imagine if we played for PSG one day, it would be incredible to live there.’ I would reply, ‘Yes, of course.’ But in my mind, I thought it was very difficult to go there when there were such amazing players like [Lionel] Messi, Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappe.
"I love Paris, I love everything about Paris. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate how respectful people are. When you go out, they don't bother you much. At a restaurant, for example, they ask before taking a photo. I really like that. It's the best city to stroll around in with your wife."
