Arsenal fans got a glimpse into the near future with England's 2-0 win over Andorra in FIFA World Cup qualifying, and it looks promising.
Four Gunners players made Thomas Tuchel's starting line-up - from the back they were Myles Lewis-Skelly, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, and Noni Madueke.
Now, it may have been Rice to steal the headlines as his second-half header on the end of Reece James' cross all-but sealed victory for the Three Lions at Villa Park, but it was an attacking pairing that dazzled even if they ended the game with nothing personal to show for it.
Madueke began on the right side of attack - a position he is expected to hold for the foreseeable under Mikel Arteta whilst the boss waits on Bukayo Saka to be deemed fit and ready to play again.
Eze was named the central attacking midfielder of Tuchel's 4-2-3-1 setup. This might be marginally different to Arteta's favoured formation, with two box-to-box runners as opposed to an attacking midfielder in Arsenal's team and Eze expected to take up a left-wing role as and when he breaks into the first eleven, but the principle is still the same.
England proved on Saturday that these two summer signings have a bright partnership in the works.
In perhaps the most stunning combination between the two, Madueke dribbled from the touchline into Andorra's 18-yard box beyond two opponents. He laid a pass off to Eze, who's touch and strike from close range was kept out by only a world-class outstretched save from Iker Alvarez.
Madueke played the entirety of the meeting two dribbles completed - the most of any England player. He also registered two shots, two crosses, and completed the match with a pass completion rate of 85.2 per cent.
In Eze's case, his three shots - all of which were on target - were the most of any Three Lions' player. His pass accuracy of 90 per cent included one cross.
And between the Arsenal duo, they managed five key passes - Madueke contributing three and Eze two.
Eze's return to north London was only sealed after the season had started, so there hasn't exactly been ample opportunity for him to fit into the rhythm of Arteta's team just yet. His debut cameo in the recent defeat to Liverpool at Anfield hardly gave supporters or indeed Arteta a glimpse of what he can offer.
The international break has its disadvantages, but the new signing being able to train and play with one of his club teammates is certainly an overriding benefit that is going to help Arsenal heading into a busy period with the return of Champions League and Carabao Cup football.
But first up is the visit of Nottingham Forest to the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League, and Arteta now knows exactly which deadly creative duo he must go with alongside striker Viktor Gyokeres.
