Mikel Arteta faced the media after Arsenal’s clash with Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners boss gave his account of the result in the first leg of the last-16 meeting between the two.

The Bundesliga side will make the trip to North London next week, with Arsenal facing the prospect of the visit of Everton at the weekend. The Gunners boss was asked for an update on the fitness concerns suffered during the fixture with Bayer 04.

It was Noni Madueke who the Arsenal manager brought on and it was the winger who earned his side a penalty. One which Kai Havertz slotted away to save them from defeat.
