Mikel Arteta faced the media after Arsenal’s narrow but vital win over Brighton away from home.

William Saliba missed the game after a twisted ankle, with more updates yet to come on the Frenchman’s status, but he was sorely missed. Bukayo Saka gave the Gunners the lead against the run of play, striking the ball from outside the box and a deflection caught out Bart Verbruggen.

Arsenal faced a barrage from Brighton throughout and hung on. Kai Havertz’s arrival changed the game for the visitors and helped retake much of the control that was lacking for so much of the game.
