Mikel Arteta faces the media ahead of the third Premier League match of the new season. Arsenal travel to Merseyside to take on Liverpool at Anfield in what is a very early title-defining fixture in the race for the top honour.

The Gunners and Arne Slot’s team are both on a maximum of six points from their two games, having both scored six or more goals; however, Liverpool have conceded four from these opening clashes, whereas Arsenal have two clean sheets. Liverpool are in much better shape physically, however, with injuries once again hitting the north London side.

Kai Havertz has undergone knee surgery and will be missing for many weeks, and Ben White and Leandro Trossard have not been seen in training. Bukayo Saka is also missing with a hamstring injury, and Martin Odegaard has a shoulder problem and faces a race against time to be fit for the last match before the international break.
