Mikel Arteta's 'unfair' demand rejected as fixture change sets up nightmare Arsenal scenario

Arsenal have been handed a nightmare fixture pile-up during the festive period with the Gunners preparing for four matches in 10 days.

Mikel Arteta's side are due to face Crystal Palace on Tuesday, December 23 - two days after a trip to Everton. They then face Brighton on December 27 and Aston Villa on December 30.

The Gunners had voiced strong opposition to Crystal Palace's request to play the match two days before Christmas, but it has been denied.
