Milos Kerkez has revealed that patience inside Liverpool has led to his upturn in form.

Milos Kerkez revealed Liverpool’s patient approach has allowed him to flourish since his summer arrival from Bournemouth.

The left-back joined the club in June for a fee of £40 million ($54M) and initially struggled under the intense Anfield spotlight. Kerkez made several costly defensive errors and was even replaced in the first half of August’s win over Burnley. He even lost his place in the starting line-up in November.

But the Hungarian has steadily improved in recent months and is now beginning to justify his place in the Liverpool line-up ahead of the experienced Andy Robertson. Kerekz’s excellent form continued in the FA Cup fourth-round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, with the defender setting up Curtis Jones’ opening goal via an inch-perfect cross.

Speaking before the game, Kerkez thanked those who have enabled him to recapture his form.

“Yeah, I think it's processing well,” he told TNT Sports. “I think you honestly needed a little bit of time.

“It was a different style of play for me and everything - [the] boss helped me a lot, really. [The] players helped me a lot, the club and I just want to improve more.

“It's a totally different dimension when you arrive to a club like Liverpool, one of the best in the world,” he added.

“I'm really happy that the boss believes in me, the club, and everyone is giving me time. I just want to repay the trust on the pitch 100 percent for the club.”

Asked what his aims for the rest of the season are, Kerkez replied: “I like to take it game by game, and just focus on tonight and then next week.

“But obviously, we're in the FA Cup, we are through in the Champions League. I think the boss said also that that's the aim.

“Fight for the FA cup, fight for the Champions League and to have also the Champions League for the next season. So that will be the aims.”

The 22-year-old has played 33 times this season in all competitions, and missed just two of the Reds’ 26 Premier League games.
