Liverpool's Mohamed Salah has been backed to reject the lure of Saudi Arabian wealth in order to continue his playing days at one of Europe's top-tier clubs.
The 33 year old Salah confirmed last week that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season, with a move to the lucrative Saudi Pro League seen as his most likely destination.
Yet, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Salah still harbours the drive to score more Champions League goals before ultimately yielding to the financial attractions of Saudi Arabia or North America's MLS. Speaking on The Overlap podcast, Carragher said: "I think Mo Salah, the way he's driven like a Ronaldo, I don't see the Saudi thing just yet.

I just think your career's over when you go there (Saudi Arabia). I think he'll still be looking at his Champions League record or how many goals he can get.", reports the Daily Star.
"I still think he thinks, 'I'm still one of the best players, and me leaving now is not the end of my top-level career, I've still got something to give'."
Salah, who spent two campaigns with Roma before his switch to Anfield in 2017, has secured one Champions League trophy with Liverpool and presently sits 11th on the tournament's all-time top scorers list.

Carragher places Salah's Anfield record – an impressive 255 goals from 435 appearances to date – as the sixth in the list of the club's all-time greatest players, behind Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, Graeme Souness, Ian Rush and John Barnes.
Previously, Carragher had labelled Salah as "disgraceful" following his outburst in the mixed zone after being benched against Leeds last year.
He now believes that Salah's decision to leave with a year left on his current contract is "the right decision for everyone".

But how could you not give the best player in the Premier League a new contract last season. It's very difficult to say with hindsight. It probably happened a year earlier than we thought."
Salah has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for a number of years, with the far east seeming the most likely place for the Egyptian King. It was suggested at one point that he could be a direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has flirted with leaving Al-Nassr at the end of the season.
Elsewhere a move to the United States could be complicated by President Donald Trump.
