Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp honored a long-discussed transfer promise of achieving silverware during the seven years the pair worked together at Liverpool.
Salah joined the Reds nine years ago from AS Roma, where he registered 19 goals in first season at the cub before making the switch to Anfield. His impact was instant on Merseyside from the moment he joined the Reds, scoring 44 goals in all competitions in his first season.
The Egyptian's aim was to win silverware, particularly the Premier League which at the time the Reds had not yet managed to achieve coming closest in the 2013/14 season under Brendan Rodgers. Meanwhile, Liverpool's agreement with Salah will cost the club millions.

We have a great team and very good players.
"I was watching the games last year and everyone was giving 100 per cent to win something. Everyone can see the coach gives everything. I hope to see that together we can give everything to win something for the club, for the supporters and for us."
Klopp also believed that Liverpool could provide Salah with the platform to fulfil his ambitions to develop even further as well as winning trophies. “He believes in what we are trying to do here at Liverpool and is extremely keen to be part of it" said Klopp after the winger signed for Liverpool.
"He is very excited about performing for our wonderful supporters. He is an ambitious player who wants to win and win at the highest level; he knows he can fulfil those ambitions with Liverpool.”

Liverpool’s 2019 Champions League triumph set the stage for their first-ever Premier League title the next season, ending a 30-year wait to be crowned English champions. More trophies followed for Liverpool and Salah including two league cups, the FA Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
After Klopp's departure in 2024, Salah went on to win a second Premier League title under his successor Arne Slot but Liverpool has struggled to defend its title with a poor domestic campaign.
Salah announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season bringing the end to a successful nine-year tenure at Anfield, confirming the decision in a bombshell video on social media.
As well as the success as a team, the 33-year-old has also cemented his place in the club’s history, becoming the Reds’ third-highest goalscorer of all time behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt and achieving a number of personal accolades including winning the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions.
