Mohamed Salah’s agent has finally broken his silence following the winger’s fallout with Liverpool last month, having posted an explosive message on social media as his client’s future remains uncertain.

Salah threw his future at Anfield into serious question last month after launching an extraordinary attack at the club and head coach Arne Slot. Having been named on the bench for a third successive game at Leeds, the 33-year-old accused Liverpool of throwing him “under the bus”, while also claiming that someone inside the club was trying to drive him out.

The winger also suggested that he could play his final game for the Reds before heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations, having told his family to be in attendance for the game against Brighton.

Slot seemingly managed to repair some bridges with Salah after dropping him for the subsequent game against Inter Milan, having included him in the squad to face Brighton.

Salah gave little away as to whether he would indeed be leaving Liverpool after that game, although subsequent reports have suggested that he is set to stay put on Merseyside beyond January.

Now, his agent has finally posted on social media for the first time since the fallout began. Although he didn’t reference Salah or Liverpool, Ramy Abbas sent a cryptic New Year message on X.

“Happy new year to everyone except to the slaves of machines with screens and the scum that use said machines to show off or seek attention,” Abbas posted.

It’s not clear who his message was aimed at, although plenty of Liverpool fans replied to him, speculating that it could be linked to Salah’s standoff at Anfield.

Abbas’ message comes after reports suggested that he was set for a face-to-face meeting with Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes as the pair discussed Salah’s future.

The Egyptian is currently away with his country at AFCON, where he is set to come up against Benin in the last-16 on Monday.

Speaking about Salah in an interview with Sky Sports recently, Slot said: "When I think when I used him in the squad against Brighton, that was a sign that we had moved on and I brought him in with the first substitution I made.

"So we've moved on but now he is at the AFCON and they have important games over there, so it is fair to him and the Egypt team that we don't talk about him as much here when it comes to Liverpool.

"But that is also fair to the players we have here because we are having to play a lot of games as well.

"So I think it is in the best interests of us, for him and Egypt that we have already shown with actions that we have moved on after his Leeds interview and now he needs his full focus on Egypt and we need our full focus over here."
