Mohamed Salah scored what proved to be the decisive goal as Egypt edged a five-goal quarter-final against Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The victory sets up a semi-final clash between Egypt and Senegal, which will feature the intriguing subplot of Salah coming up against former Reds teammate Sadio Mane.
Egypt took a two-goal lead against Ivory Coast through Omar Marmoush and Ramy Rabia before an own-goal from Ahmed Abou El Fotouh made the score 2-1.
Salah restored Egypt's cushion before Guela Doue pulled another goal back for Ivory Coast, but there was to be no further scoring as Egypt secured the final semi-final spot.
