Mohamed Salah has previously stated that he enjoys "a good relationship" with the Saudi Pro League, as speculation intensifies that he could depart Liverpool during the January transfer window.
The 33-year-old Egypt and Reds forward launched an extraordinary outburst following Saturday's 3-3 draw with Leeds, in which he did not feature, claiming he felt he had been 'thrown under a bus' by the club and that his relationship with Liverpool's head coach, Arne Slot, had completely deteriorated.
Salah subsequently opened the door to a potential mid-season departure, revealing that he had instructed family members to attend next weekend's home fixture against Brighton and that he would bid farewell to supporters ahead of his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations, adding cryptically that he remained uncertain about what would unfold during the tournament.
Reports surfaced earlier this week suggesting Saudi clubs are positioned to facilitate a transfer for Salah should he signal his willingness to leave Liverpool.
Whilst he committed his future to the Premier League champions until the summer of 2027 with the contract he signed earlier this year, Salah hinted at a potential future move to Saudi Arabia back in May when discussing transfer possibilities, reports the Mirror.
Speaking to Egyptian television channel ON Sports in May, he said: "If you ask me for my opinion, I think I can play until the age of 39 or 40, but if I felt before that I wanted to stop, I would quit. I have achieved a lot of things.
"My contract was up at Liverpool and I would have gone to Saudi but we finalised the deal with Liverpool."
Discussing ongoing interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, Salah added: "I still have a good relationship with them and I always stay in contact with them. Yes, we were talking to each other.
"I don't know what is going to happen, but I am happy here in Liverpool and I am staying here for the next two years. Then I will see what I will do next."
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney has hit out at Salah and suggested he faces an uphill battle to win over his Liverpool teammates.

Speaking on his latest BBC podcast episode, Rooney said: "Why would you come out and say that? He's been absolutely incredible for Liverpool, but this was disrespectful to his teammates, manager and fans.
"Last year, he was vocal about not being offered a new contract and he does deserve the money he gets. But he can't flip it and say what he did. It is incredible.
"If I was one of his teammates, I wouldn't be happy. This is when they need him the most and if anything, he has thrown Liverpool under the bus. He is absolutely destroying his legacy at Liverpool."
