Mohamed Salah shared another update from the gym with his latest Instagram post on Thursday. The question of whether the forward will be back in Liverpool's squad to face Brighton on Saturday remains unanswered, and this could potentially be the 33-year-old's final appearance for the club.
Salah was excluded from midweek Champions League duties by Arne Slot after making controversial comments following the Reds' draw at Leeds United last weekend. He had been relegated to the bench for that match and the two preceding Premier League games.
Consequently, there are renewed doubts about the Egyptian's future at Anfield. Regardless, it seems to be business as usual for Salah.
On Thursday night, the prolific striker, who has netted 250 goals, shared a mirror selfie from his home gym on Instagram, maintaining his rigorous fitness regime despite the ongoing drama.
If he can mend fences with Slot and the club, Salah might make a comeback in the squad for this weekend's match against Brighton at Anfield, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Head coach Slot is scheduled to speak to the press from Liverpool's AXA Training Centre on Friday, where clarity on the situation could be given.
However, if Salah does play this weekend, he'll soon be off the pitch again for Liverpool as he's set to represent Egypt in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations after the Premier League match.
With Salah's future hanging in the balance, he finds himself once more connected to a potential switch to the financially attractive Saudi Pro League, where officials have already been exploring a possible arrangement.
"Mohamed Salah is welcome in the Saudi League, but it is the clubs that are responsible for negotiating with players," Saudi Pro League chief executive Omar Mugharbel confirmed this week, adding: "For sure Salah is one of them [a target]."

A Public Investment Fund source also told the AFP news agency: "We follow Salah's position thoroughly and believe there can be a move either on loan or through a permanent transfer.
"There are no direct negotiations with the club yet, but action will be taken at the right moment."
The PIF holds ownership stakes in Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad within the Saudi Pro League, whilst Al-Qadsiah - who maintain connections with state-owned energy behemoth Aramco - have also been mentioned as a potential destination for Salah.
