Mohammed Kudus signs for Tottenham and £55m player could make instant impact

6 days ago 33

Tottenham have made Mohammed Kudus their third signing of the summer transfer window, his arrival from West Ham confirmed .

Spurs have wasted no time so far in the summer transfer window, with Mathys Tel and Toka Katai joining the club over the last few weeks while Kevin Danso's permanent arrival was also confirmed due to an obligation in his loan deal from last season. The former two players are hoped to be impactful in the future, but Spurs need someone to make an impact now, and Kudus could be just the player to do so.

After a fantastic first season with West Ham, where he managed 20 goal contributions, Kudus scored just five times across all competitions last season.

So, now that Spurs have signed Kudus, how could he perform in the Lilywhites' attack? Let's take a look.

Tottenham's 2025/26 season simulated with Mohammed Kudus

To set up this simulation, we used Football Manager 2024 to move Kudus to Spurs in the summer transfer window before simulating the 2025/26 season.

Kudus took a while to find his feet at Spurs, with Thomas Frank rotating him in and out of the starting XI while trying to figure out his best position. But, from the turn of the year, the Ghanaian was incredible, and he ended the season as one of Spurs' best players.

In 30 starts and 15 appearances off the bench, Kudus managed to score 13 and assist four, with only Dejan Kulusevski (16) and Dominic Solanke (23) scoring more. Interestingly, 11 of Kudus' 13 goals came after December, showing how he needed a little bit of time to settle.

He also averaged a rating of 7.20 per game, with Pedro Porro (7.32) the only player in Frank's squad to average higher.

At the end of the 2025/26 season, Football Manager 2024 put together an overall best Spurs XI, based on performances, statistics, and other metrics. This is what it looked like:

Full Spurs best XI: (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Gray, Sarr; Kudus, Kulusevski, Maddison; Solanke.

After being tested on the left and through the middle, Kudus played his best on the right, with that being the position the 24-year-old occupied in Spurs' best XI. Kulusevski and James Maddison joined Kudus behind Solanke, while Pape Sarr and Archie Gray were Frank's chosen midfield pivot.

With Kudus in Spurs' ranks, the Lilywhites were consistent in the Premier League, with Frank's side involved in a battle for the Champions League spots all season. Despite a shaky run of form in March, the Lilywhites prevailed as they finished fourth in the Premier League.

21 wins, six draws and 11 defeats saw Spurs end the season with 69 points, two more than Newcastle in fifth, and three more than Chelsea in sixth. Away from the league, Spurs were unable to win a trophy, but they put up a good fight in the cup competitions.

Spurs' Champions League run came to an end in the quarter-finals, with Frank's side losing 5-3 on aggregate to Barcelona. A 2-1 loss to Chelsea saw the Blues knocked out of the FA Cup in the quarter-finals, and a devastating 1-0 loss to Liverpool saw them lose in the final of the Carabao Cup.
