Moises Caicedo shares Chelsea disappointment as eight-word message sent

2 hours ago 3

Moises Caicedo has taken to social media after Chelsea dropped points in the closing minutes against Brentford. The Blues were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with the Bees on Saturday night in their first Premier League fixture after the international break.

Brentford had taken the lead with a Kevin Schade goal in the first half before Cole Palmer equalised for Chelsea after the interval. Enzo Maresca's side then took the lead in the closing minutes with a long-range strike from Caicedo, only for substitute Fabio Carvalho to score the winning goal for the home side at the Gtech Community Stadium in stoppage time.

The Blues midfielder went on to post a message on Instagram to his 2.7million followers, which has since received more than 125,000 likes on the social media platform.

"It got away from us at the end, but we take a point home. Great effort from the team," wrote Caicedo on Instagram. "Already looking ahead to Wednesday. Josué 1:9."

Chelsea's next match will see them take on Bayern Munich on Tuesday night in their first league phase fixture in the Champions League, before going on to travel to face Manchester United in the Premier League next weekend.

The game against Bayern could see Nicolas Jackson play against the Blues, with UEFA rules stating that loanees can feature against their parent club in the competition.

Jackson left Chelsea on deadline day to sign for the Bundesliga giants on loan, which also includes an obligation to buy.

Chelsea can end the 2024/25 Premier League season on a high, but it is never quiet at Stamford Bridge and the summer looks set to be one full of news, with Enzo Maresca looking for transfer to bolster his squad.
