It has been a busy week at Tottenham Hotspur with a hat-trick of transfers almost coming to pass only for some outrage from the direction of Nottingham to at the least temporarily scupper that.
Spurs did complete a £55million move for West Ham attacker Mohammed Kudus on Thursday after tying up a £5million deal for Japan international centre-back Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale earlier in the week. They then looked to be about to end the weekend by completing a transfer triple with the £60million signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White to further boost new head coach Thomas Frank's squad.
However, with the 25-year-old England international set for a medical at Spurs thanks to a £60million release clause in his contract at Forest being triggered, it suddenly emerged that the Midlands side were considering legal action against what they believe was an illegal approach from the north London club along with concerns over the potential revealing of a confidential release clause.
So what happens next? Also, if Gibbs-White does arrive at Tottenham what does it mean for other players in the north London squad? Who will Frank want to come in next through the Hotspur Way doors and who will head out of them from a very bloated Spurs squad during the remainder of the summer transfer window?
