Myles Lewis-Skelly makes Noni Madueke feelings crystal clear as Arsenal debut plan revealed

Myles Lewis-Skelly has insisted he is "really happy" Noni Madueke has joined Arsenal.

The 23-year-old made the move to Emirates Stadium from Chelsea earlier this month, with Andrea Berta negotiating a deal worth £52million. The England international will bring extra quality and depth in the attacking wide areas and most notably offer cover for Bukayo Saka.

Lewis-Skelly knows fellow England international Madueke well and is looking forward to linking up with his new teammate. Speaking in Singapore during the club's pre-season tour of Asia, the Hale Ender believes Madueke will offer a lot with his directness.

“Noni is my guy!” Lewis-Skelly told the official Arsenal website. “We get on so well and we are so similar. I’m really happy he’s joined us because even when I joined up with the national team, he made me feel so welcome. And so vice versa when he came here, I made him feel welcome as well.

“He’s so direct, can play on the left or right wing. His qualities are going to help us out so much. I’m so excited to have him because he’s going to bring a lot to the team.”

Having played a part in Chelsea's Club World Cup success in the United States, Madueke is currently on a post-season holiday and is expected to join up with Mikel Arteta's squad when they return to London. Arsenal are scheduled to play Villarreal and Athletic Club at Emirates Stadium on August 6 and August 9 and Madueke is likely to be involved in some capacity.

Arsenal, meanwhile, face Newcastle on Sunday before travelling to Hong Kong where they will play north London rivals Tottenham on Wednesday. Lewis-Skelly, whose grandparents used to live in Singapore, played the second half of the 1-0 win against AC Milan earlier this week and has been encouraged by the support in the country.

“I love it, the people are so nice and it’s so clean here," he said. "Connecting with the fans, has been great everybody is so happy to see each other. We're so grateful for their support and we know nothing is possible without the support like this.”
