Geovany Quenda is set to arrive at Chelsea this summer after the Blues agreed a £40million deal with Sporting CP for the 18-year-old winger back in March of last year

Geovany Quenda has been using the facilities at Chelsea's training base in Cobham over the last few days, in collaboration with Sporting CP, as he recovers from an injury to his right foot, football.london understands.

The 18-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge officially in the summer transfer window after the Blues agreed a £40million deal with Sporting CP back in March of last year. Quenda has been in superb form for Sporting in his final season at the club - with 13 direct goal contributions in 22 appearances in all competitions - but has not played in almost a month after having surgery following a nasty foot injury.

Following a bad challenge, Quenda, who is viewed as a potential world-class talent by many, was ruled out for around two months with the problem. The Portugal Under-21 international is targeting a return towards the end of February and has visited the UK to continue his rehabilitation.

Quenda has been getting to know his soon-to-be surroundings as he prepares for the big move in the summer, with the young winger getting to experience London over the course of the next month or so, while also getting to grips with his new place of work in Cobham, Surrey.

football.london understands Quenda has been left mightily impressed by the facilities at Chelsea's training centre and has been working in the gym as he continues to make progress on his foot problem.

Chelsea have already wrapped up pre-contract agreements for Quenda, Dastan Satpayev and Emanuel Emegha, with the trio all set to join in the summer. Emegha will join from Strasbourg and is set to connect with head coach Liam Rosenior, who is getting closer to becoming Enzo Maresca's successor at Stamford Bridge.

Rosenior flew to the UK on Sunday evening to hold talks on Monday and finalise his switch to west London. Meanwhile, Strasbourg are still in the process of finding a replacement for Rosenior with Gary O'Neil one of the final candidates for the soon-to-be vacant role, football.london understands.
