Chelsea star Cole Palmer gave a priceless reaction to Stamford Bridge booing Noni Madueke on Sunday. The former Blues winger made his return to West London after leaving Enzo Maresca's side to join Arsenal.

The Blues were handed a boost in the build-up to Sunday's top-of-the-table showdown with the Gunners when Palmer was passed fit to play. However, he was an unused substitute as they drew 1-1 with the Premier League pace-setters.

The derby wasn't without controversy after Moises Caicedo was sent off after 36 minutes for a foul on Mikel Merino, after VAR intervened to upgrade a yellow card to a red. Palmer did warm-up after making his comeback after a thigh and toe injury ruled him out in recent weeks but there was also a return for Madueke.

Palmer was filmed reacting to the home crowd booing the England international during the 1-1 draw on Sunday. Madueke left for Arsenal in the summer, joining the Gunners for a reported £48.5million a matter of weeks after becoming a world champion at the Club World Cup with Chelsea.

Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 after impressing in the Eredivisie. He fired 20 goals in 92 appearances, adding nine assists to his tally during a success period in the capital where he won the UEFA Conference League and the Club World Cup.

But he made the surprise move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer, which was met with hostility from a small sectionof supporters in North London. A hashtag was made with a petition gaining 5,000 signatures before the 23-year-old's move was confirmed.

"I'm somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time and I feel like it's steered me in the right direction so far," Madueke explained.

"So, I don't think it's going to be any different here. I think it's going to be a great success and I'm really happy to be here.

"I’ve just been relaxed, waiting for the green light and when I came in today, it all felt real. I'm really happy and really proud, so it's a great moment for me. It's great to go back home, be with my mum, my dad. I know my mum misses me in the house.

"It's already a great team with a clear identity and I can't wait to bring my style to the team and try and help the boys as much as possible to take that next step."
