Newcastle Get Blunt Update on Star Player Amid PSG, Juventus Interest

PSG may be considering a midfield shake-up as they plan for the future. Vitinha and João Neves are expected to play key roles, but questions remain because Warren Zaïre-Emery might be unhappy with his current position and Fabián Ruiz will turn 30 near the season’s end.

That combination could prompt changes in the coming year. The club has shown it is not afraid to make bold moves, with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s situation serving as a recent example. PSG appears focused on staying proactive rather than simply reacting.

As for reinforcements, recent reports suggest Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali could be on PSG’s radar to strengthen the midfield.

Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke reports that Newcastle United are working to secure Sandro Tonali’s future, despite other clubs closely monitoring his situation at St James’ Park.

The report adds that the midfielder is in no hurry to move on, provided Newcastle remain in contention for trophies. A contract offer could effectively end any lingering transfer speculation.

“As long as Newcastle are competing for silverware or able to offer Champions League football to Sandro Tonali, I don’t think he will be in any rush to leave St James’ Park as well,” O’Rourke said.

“I’m sure the club will sit down and have discussions over a potential new contract just to sort of ward off that interest and kill off that speculation of a possible move back to Italy. You’ve got to remember Newcastle stood by Tonoli after all the off-field stuff with the betting suspension and everything else.

“So they’ll be hoping that he would show a bit of loyalty and decide to stay at Newcastle as well. Yeah, I don’t see any move for him in the immediate future back to Italy.”
