Newcastle Get Strong Message on Star Player Amid PSG, Juventus Link

PSG could be planning a midfield overhaul as they look to the future. Vitinha and João Neves are seen as central to those plans, but uncertainties linger—Warren Zaïre-Emery may be frustrated with his current role, and Fabián Ruiz will turn 30 toward the end of the season.

That mix could lead to changes next year. PSG have proven they aren’t afraid to make bold moves—Gianluigi Donnarumma’s situation is a recent example—and the club seems intent on staying ahead rather than reacting to circumstances.

So, who could PSG target to strengthen their midfield? A recent report links Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali with a potential move to Paris.

Tonali is one of the names at the front of the line that Newcastle want to tie down to a new contract to fend off any interest. Recently,  TuttoJuve reported that Juventus and PSG are gearing up to make a move for Tonali.

Moreover, the report mentions that the capital club remain determined to pursue Tonali and have no plans to back down, even with Juventus also pushing to secure his signature.

Amid the rumors, former football scout Mick Brown spoke with Football Insider about the future of Tonali.

“Newcastle want Tonali to sign a new contract,” Brown told Football Insider. “He’s been playing exceptionally well and has raised his game this season. It’s worth remembering shortly after he arrived at Newcastle, this betting scandal came out and he was forced to spend a long period out with a suspension.

“There were question marks over how he was going to be when he came back, mentally as well as on the pitch, and they’ve helped him with that process. Newcastle always stuck with him and now he’s come back into the team and he’s played his part in helping them kick on from where they were.

“From what I hear, he’s grateful for the support they have given him and is keen to pay them back. I think he’s happy there, he’s playing regularly and he’s an important player now, so I expect he’ll be willing to extend his stay and it works for all parties.”
