Nicolas Jackson 'agrees terms' as next Chelsea transfer hint emerges before deadline day

11 hours ago 39

English clubs don’t have too long remaining to complete their business in the summer transfer window, with less than one week until the deadline.

Clubs have until 7pm on Monday, 1 September to finalise their squads for the 2025/26 season. Chelsea are one of the sides expected to do deals both incoming and outgoing before the end of the window.

The Blues have completed the signing of eight players in the window so far. The club continue to work on deals for Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, but they could be dependent on funds being raised from outgoings.

With that in mind, here is a look at a couple of the latest transfer stories doing the rounds at Stamford Bridge, with our own thoughts on the situations also added.

Nicolas Jackson twist

Bayern Munich have reportedly agreed personal terms with Nicolas Jackson over a move for the Chelsea striker. Sport Bild claim that the German side have identified the striker as their final summer transfer target.

It is added that they have already agreed a deal with Jackson, and are now ready to approach Chelsea over a possible loan deal. Bayern are said to be disinterested in a permanent deal, something which Chelsea would prefer.

FL says : For Chelsea, a loan deal wouldn’t be ideal, and the Blues should resist any loan offer from Bayern, especially given the other clubs reported to be showing an interest in the striker. Chelsea would benefit more from a permanent deal with them able to reinvest any transfer fee in the final days of the window.

Therefore sanctioning a loan deal should be the last resort in the final days of the window if a permanent deal can’t be agreed.

Raheem Sterling hint

Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali, who is heavily involved in the club’s transfer deals was spotted sitting next to Fulham owner Shahid Khan during Sunday’s Premier League match between Fulham and Manchester United.

It comes with the Cottagers being one of the teams being linked with an interest in Raheem Sterling. It’s been reported that the player’s preference is to stay in London, but the Daily Mail claim that his future is not expected to be sorted until closer to the deadline.

It is also added that a loan deal still cannot be ruled out due to the wages involved in any deal.

FL says : "Like Jackson, a permanent deal would be the preference for Chelsea for Sancho, but they may have to settle for a loan deal with some of his wages being paid. The fact that Eghbali was at Fulham shows a positive relationship between the clubs, that could be a positive thing for both amid reported interest in Sterling."
