Aberdeen remain bottom of the Premiership after defeat at Fir Park

Hearts are top of the Scottish Premiership with 16 points from a possible 18 after they beat Falkirk 3-0 and Celtic were held to a goalless draw by Hibernian.

Aberdeen's woeful form continued as they conceded twice in second-half stoppage time at Fir Park, while Rangers got their first league victory under Russell Martin in dramatic style at Livingston.

With further wins for St Mirren and Kilmarnock it was another captivating weekend in the Scottish top flight.

Here are some of the best reactions from fans on the weekend action.

'Total sickener' - Aberdeen lose again

Jimmy Thelin's Aberdeen failed to score again and are bottom of the Premiership with just one point from their six matches.

Garry: What's going on with the collective mentality at this club? The constant chopping and changing of line-ups, the lack of any identity as to style of play and poor decisions top down, just add up to an appalling mess with predictable outcomes. Never experienced this in all my days as a Dons fan. Not a smile or joyous moment from any of the players is telling. Jimmy Thelin can't be blamed for individual mistakes but his tactics and obvious lack of inspiration have ground the joy out of this club. He has to go. Thanks for the cup but that's history now.

Justin: Total sickener. We definitely played better and on another day we'd have scored two. Dimitar Mitov can be given a pass because he's saved our proverbial bacon many times, not to mention the cup win. It's hard but I think it'll turn around very soon. It simply must for the whole club and city.

Martin: Keep saying it's a three-year plan. Nearly halfway through and we are bottom of the league with no goals. If the plan is the Championship we are well on our way. Good players with no direction.

Bruce: On any other day, a draw at Fir Park would be a decent result, but the result and performance have been obscured by recent form. We played a decent game and could have scored two or three. Feel for Mitov, who's been playing well. Confidence will only grow when hard work yields a result. This was a positive step, despite the result.

Craig: Frustrating and upsetting, however we were better, much more disciplined, the formation largely worked, we created several good chances, but how can Thelin legislate for Kevin Nisbet, Topi Keskinen, Marko Lazetic, etc missing golden chances? We'll get our Rocky Bushiri moment and come out of this.

Donald: If it wasn't clear before it must be crystal clear now, Thelin is NOT the problem! His players are not taking their chances. We should've buried Motherwell, from the first couple of minutes right through to the end of the match, Aberdeen should have had a comfortable win. Fate decided differently from a Dons point of view. The Scottish football scene will continue to scorn the Dons, and probably ridicule my club, but life was harsh on the Dons and Thelin. Motherwell got a victory that they didn't deserve, Aberdeen still need to be more clinical though. Onwards and upwards!

Rangers end wait for win, but heat stays on Martin

Rangers found a league win at the sixth attempt, thanks to a stoppage-time strike from Max Aarons, although many fans remain critical of head coach Russell Martin.

James: No idea why Martin is raving about that performance and we definitely did not deserve to win, worst team in decades.

Paul: Rangers are not the team they need to be or should be! They need strong leadership and a new desire to win and a hunger for success, something they don't have right now. We need a new leader who will demand more from the players and not someone who gladly accepts mediocrity.

Jon: Personally, I think it's ridiculous for supporters to call for Russell Martin to be sacked even if he's winning games as surely that's what you want your manager to do. I hope this is the start of a good run for us now.

JMack: Angry doesn't even come close to describing how most Rangers fans feel. Disgusted is the most appropriate word. Martin lives in a delusional world where he sees only what he wants to see, speaks eloquent football babble that is so far removed from reality it is scary. The sheer lack of appreciation, understanding, and perspective is staggering. There is so much negative equity in this relationship that he could win the Europa League and then the next wee blip the fans would still be happy to see him booted! Better gone now than in 3, 6, 12 months time having wasted more time and money bringing in dross.

Gareth: Rangers winning has just kept Russell Martin in his job for another game basically. He isn't out of the woods yet. The players played well so well done to them. It's going to take a lot to get the fans back on track.

William: When will the manager understand we cannot accept these nonsense interviews when he goes on about how well we played and we should have scored more goals. I am unsure what football matches he is watching, however, it is certainly not the ones I am witnessing.

Paul: First half showed some really good football, second half not so good. The players need consistency and you can't coach that. Perhaps time for of the so-called supporters to support the team and the manager and stop the constant criticism, which can't be helping the team. Union Bears and those like them don't speak for every fan.

George: Absolutely dire performance, got the win but don't think anyone thinks that we are playing better. The win has just prolonged the agony until we are rid of Martin.

Andrew: Its a sad reflection of life under Russell Martin that we consider scraping a last minute win against Livingston a good result. Mediocrity has become the new norm. Martin out!

Hearts went top of the Scottish Premiership with a superb 3-0 win over Falkirk.

Mikey: A treat of a performance from Hearts. Solid at the back and venomous going forward. Bring on the Hibs next weekend!

Paul: Fantastic performance and good goals from the team. All we can do is keep on improving and keep on winning. With the depth of squad we have now hopefully injuries, which are inevitable, don't hamper us. Roll on the derby and let natural order resume.

Steven: A very accomplished, all-round performance from Hearts, against a Falkirk side that were very unlucky not to win against Hibs midweek. The 3-0 defeat against Hearts flattered Falkirk and hopefully Hearts will similarly acquit themselves for our next home game, whoever that is.

Fiona: Outstanding! Can we keep it going though? Our next two games will show whether we have the fight or not! But we Jambos are going to enjoy this! Watch out the Jambos are coming.

Chris: Expectation met reality. I was confident going into the game and we didn't care what Falkirk did, we played our own game and it was a very enjoyable match. Individual skills combine to make a very cohesive football team and we were deserved winners with a goal of the season chucked in for good measure. Bring on Hibs!

Motherwell earned their first Premiership win of the season with a dramatic late show against Aberdeen.

Bruce: Finally getting results. Play is good. Fans entertained. Unbeaten this season and in a semi-final. Life is good again as a 'Well fan.

Mark: Fully deserved result. I would have liked to have seen the ball in the net a bit sooner but who doesn't love last minute winners? That's three points on the board now, as well as a clean sheet at home. I'm so glad Apostolos Stamatelopoulos got his goal- he has been needing it and now he, and all of us, have our just reward for such good football.

Alan: With Elliot Watt and Lukas Fadinger totally controlling the midfield this was an excellent result for Motherwell. Stamatelopoulos worked his socks off and took the penalty with aplomb. With some more fine tuning in the finishing department this could be the best Motherwell team for some time. The new system is working well. The team spirit was also very evident after the second goal.

David: Not our best performance but kept going until the end and and finally got the result that the previous games should have got. Onwards and upwards.

Susan: So impressed with the astounding turnaround at Fir Park. Thoroughly enjoyed it. This new group of players never give up and have such a belief and togetherness. It's a joy to be a 'Well fan at the moment.

Grant: Great result against a poor Aberdeen team who are lacking in belief, if they were on top of their game they would probably have scored a couple themselves, going to miss Stephen Welsh next week but fingers crossed that some players start coming back from injury.

Kilmarnock also secured their first league win of the season with a fine display at Tannadice.

David: Positive performance once more. We wouldn't have won that under the previous management. Consistency is key, build momentum for next week.

Frank: Very polished, professional performance. Could have scored more goals. Defence were solid, midfield creative, especially young David Watson. Bruce Anderson looks sharp as a needle, he should be used as main striker with another. Still some good players to come back to full fitness. Looking solid at present.

Danny: Fantastic result, what we have been needing. Early days, don't see why we can't finish top-six this season. More than matched every team so far and should have beaten Celtic, who only won through a dodgy refereeing decision helping them win.

David: Delighted for Stuart Kettlewell to get the result at Tannadice and it could have been more! Well done to everyone involved and especially Watson. What an engine that lad has!

St Mirren's excellent form under Stephen Robinson continued with a 1-0 win over Dundee.

Iain: Thought we were in control of the game throughout but just needed another goal to make it less stressful for us fans. Lots of good performances, Killian Phillips was man of the match simply for his goal. Good to see Connor McMenamin get some game time.

Alistair: The game showed how we've built a squad with depth. We were missing key players from the last few seasons but the guys who came in will give Stephen Robinson a decision to make.

William: A deserved win and three points, Saints were top for most of the game. Let's hope this showing can continue with another show piece coming up. Please do not have the players wearing away strips at Hampden. Black and white stripes are called for. We are St Mirren!

Alan: Played reasonably well in the first half, where we probably could and should have been further ahead. The second half we were okay but we need to take our chances when they come our way because 1-0 is never comfortable.

Celtic frustrated by 'immense' Hibs

Celtic supporters came away from their goalless draw against Hibs with mixed emotions.

Grantos: We created some good chances but otherwise it was a bit passive and boring. Arne Engels needs to do more and seek to take control and command the game. It was disappointing.

Maire: It was okay. Not terrible, and a bit unlucky with a few chances. Sometimes you draw 0-0, that's football isn't it? Complete overreaction from some in the stadium. We'll be fine.

Brian: The team lacked the killer touch and there was a complete lack of atmosphere at the ground. It cannot continue. The team need the support. We need a full house on Thursday, but it's already the word that isn't going to be the case.

John: Let's be honest it's a bad result. We are slowly getting to our best but it's not happening because we are not scoring goals.

James: Very poor performance, the amount of possession and we struggled to create any real scoring chances. Going to be a long season at this rate. Daizen Maeda is not interested no, we've lost creativity in midfield and don't start on the defending. We should have gone for Lawrence Shankland last season, he knows how to score in the Premiership which our strikers seem to have forgotten. Fair play to Hearts, Tynecastle in a month will define our season.

Davie: That's the best we have played so far this season. Sebastian Tounekti looks like a very good addition and Kelechi Iheanacho does what Adam Idah couldn't, he holds the ball up well. We are starting to get more balls in the box now which is good to see although Engels still looks miles off it, especially dead balls. Maeda on the right worked quite well so all in all I think we are maybe getting there.

Hibs fans were delighted with their players' defensive efforts at Parkhead.

Scott: After a few poor defensive performances recently that one was immense. A little more belief and we could have stolen all three points as the crowd was apoplectic in frustration and constantly on the Celtic players' backs.

Kenny: Best defensive performance so far. Grant Hanley was in charge and controlled everything. Celtic had chances but we never looked in trouble. Going forward we were a bit thin at times but overall a very good point earned.

Stewart: Seems we set out to get a draw and earned it, we managed to keep the door shut.

George: Great point. That said, Celtic didn't really fire up today but perhaps that's also due to Hibs' defensive performance. Shame we couldn't nick a goal, but we take the point, learn from this performance and move on. Well done to the whole squad, and management.

Gary: Hanley was the difference. Showed his experience and led the defence well. Great confidence boost not to concede. Well done David Gray.

The losers - Falkirk, Livingston, United & Dundee

Jim Goodwin's Dundee United were well beaten by Kilmarnock on Saturday

Dundee lost 1-0 at St Mirren and fans were frustrated by a lack of attacking ambition.

John: Reasonable effort considering no Simon Murray. However, I fear it's not good enough and Steven Pressley's living on borrowed time. We need to be more aggressive and offensive. Attack is often the best form of defence.

Gary: Unfortunately it highlights the amount of work Murray puts in each week. Never mind everyone saying we're a one-man team, but there's too many others that never match his work rate, so much so that when he's missing we're almost two men down. Instead, the rest should be lifting their performance, otherwise we'll end up with nothing.

Adam: There's just no entertainment with this Dundee side. Taking away the Livingston game, every other game, we've played to keep the game 0-0 and invariably we are not even good at that. I've watched worse Dundee sides; I've yet to watch a more boring one than this side.

Alan: Woeful yet again, never looked like scoring and playing football so dull that the fans are deserting in droves. Player recruitment has been poor, the manager looks out of his depth and you can give a cast-iron guarantee that Aberdeen will get their first league goals and win of the season next weekend!

Dundee United failed to back up Tuesday's win over Aberdeen as they were beaten by Kilmarnock.

Jamie: Back down to earth with a bang after Tuesday's stunning performance. Killie's first goal was very well worked but apart from that their style of play was painful to watch with long ball after long ball to Marcus Dackers. That said, we had no answer to it and Jim Goodwin had no plan B. He continues to be outthought by Stuart Kettlewell. A bad day indeed.

Gordon: The buzz from dispatching Aberdeen so convincingly crashed into the immovable object of Killie. Solid, stolid, physical and with a brilliant first goal they undid United. United needed a spark and it rarely came. This is the reality of this league, effort and purpose is the bare minimum requirement.

Kieran: We always say if ain't broke don't fix it, but that should have been the exception to the rule. The passionate, energetic and exuberant United we saw on Tuesday was replaced by a lethargic, lacklustre and lifeless United with the missed penalty summing it up in one moment. What realistically should be nine points from nine in the hat-trick of home games could end up being a measly three if we don't up our game next week against a similar test in Livingston.

Lee: United were absolutely dismal. Low energy, sloppy passing even from the usually dependable Pan Camara. Only Will Ferry gets pass marks. Goodwin doesn't and needs to learn how to change things when they're not working. This was just one bad day at the office as United have shown before they're capable of scintillating play.

One Falkirk fan was heartened despite the 3-0 defeat by Hearts.

David: Tynecastle is always a tough place to go. Despite the score line, I thought that we gave a good account of ourselves and we are not far away. John McGlynn's recruitment has been good. Once they have all settled into the Premiership, we will pick up wins against the top rated teams. Perhaps the Hibs game took more out of the team, but then again Hibs go to Parkhead and get a point.

And one Livi supporter had a good moan about referee John Beaton.

Garry: Rangers getting every decision they wanted from the officials again. Sylla kicked in the head and two Livi players having their shirts pulled at the same time but nothing given? The standard of refereeing is killing Scottish football.
