Tottenham Hotspur have dropped one of the most stunning announcements of the season, with news breaking of Daniel Levy’s departure after more than two decades at the helm, leaving fans stunned in their reactions.

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed one of the most surprising developments in recent memory, announcing the exit of executive chairman Daniel Levy.

Levy has been the main decision-maker at Tottenham for over twenty years, overseeing the day-to-day running of the club and becoming a central figure in the modern history of Spurs.

During his time in charge, Levy helped deliver two trophies, including last season’s Europa League triumph, while also spearheading the construction of the state-of-the-art Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has become a landmark in N17.

Daniel Levy’s 24-year spell as chairman of Spurs ends

Levy’s decision to step down comes on the back of a significant summer outlay, with Tottenham spending well over £160 million in the transfer window to back new manager Thomas Frank as he looks to reshape the squad.

The 63-year-old has often divided opinion among the Tottenham fanbase, with his business-first approach leading to widespread criticism and several organised protests calling for the chairman to step aside.

Following confirmation of his exit, Levy reflected on his time at the club and admitted he remains proud of what was achieved under his leadership.

Speaking via the club’s official channels, he said: “I am incredibly proud of the work I have done together with the executive team and all our employees. We have built this club into a global heavyweight competing at the highest level.

“More than that, we have built a community. I was lucky enough to work with some of the greatest people in this sport, from the team at Lilywhite House and Hotspur Way to all the players and managers over the years.

“I wish to thank all the fans that have supported me over the years. It has not always been an easy journey but significant progress has been made. I will continue to support this club passionately.”
