Manchester City have issued a statement after a number of third-party ticketing sites started selling Champions League tickets

Manchester City have warned fans about 'unofficial resellers' offering tickets for Champions League games that don't exist.
Tickets for the Napoli game later this month officially go on sale on Thursday morning but are being advertised elsewhere on a number of third-party sites.
The club insist that these tickets will not get you into the ground for the game on Thursday, September 18, with only those purchased through official channels being counted as authentic.
"We are aware of a number of unofficial resellers advertising tickets for our upcoming Champions League fixtures. These are not valid tickets," a statement said on social media.
"They are 'speculative' tickets; the vendor doesn't have them, and they intend to acquire tickets later. If a seller has no seat details, or lists incorrect stadium areas such as 'Longside Upper Tier' they will not be valid tickets.
"Always use official channels to purchase tickets. If you've purchased from an unofficial source, fill out this form, and we'll do our best to assist."
As well as reducing matchday prices to make tickets more affordable for fans, the club have also introduced measures to try and restrict touts or away supporters from taking seats in the stadium. Anyone who wants to attend the Napoli game must have had a membership before the draw was made and have attended at least one game.
The move was welcomed by supporters, albeit there are still concerns about the problem of third-party sites. City's decision to partner with a ninth official reseller last season, Viagogo, was enough for tens of thousands of supporters to protest on the back of away fans infiltrating the home ends against Liverpool and Real Madrid.
This followed an investigation by the Manchester Evening News earlier this year laying bare how even the official resellers carried nowhere near the level of checks that the club do to make sure that the home end is only populated by City fans.
With fresh concerns from supporters over the new turnstile system introduced to the Etihad this season that caused delays for the opening game, there will be extra scrutiny on the club for them to ensure Champions League nights are as safe as possible for their supporters.
