Nuno Espirito Santo offers West Ham injury update before Liverpool as 3 players set to miss out

Liverpool hosts West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend, with Nuno Espirito Santo offering the latest update on his team news ahead of the game at Anfield

West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo says his side has no new injury concerns ahead of traveling to play Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

January signing Pablo Felipe, who was brought in from the Portuguese outfit Gil Vicente, is unlikely to be involved as he recovers from an injury sustained against Burnley. Since then, the 22-year-old has missed three games in all competitions.

"He didn't join us yet," Nuno said in his pre-Liverpool press conference on Thursday. "He's starting his individual programme, so he's improving day by day. Like I said, we keep assessing him to see when he can return.

"It all depends on him. It depends on how he adapts to the loads again, so hopefully soon, because we miss him."

Elsewhere, young midfielder Freddie Potts is suspended and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski has a back injury.

"You know what it is, always knocks and things to assess, but we have a training session tomorrow and then we travel," Nuno added.

West Ham has not won away at Liverpool since 2015 when Brendan Rodgers was in charge at Anfield. It has lost nine of the last 10 meetings between the two sides.

Should the Hammers win at Liverpool this weekend, that would take them out of the relegation zone and above Nottingham Forest before Vitor Pereira's men take on Brighton.

On the Stick To Football podcast, sponsored by Sky Bet, Portugal manager Roberto Martinez predicted a 1-0 win for West Ham on Merseyside.

However, Roy Keane was not on board with that, shooting down suggestions from the likes of Ian Wright that under Nuno, the Hammers are back in form.

"Florian Wirtz was a big loss; they were dreadful against Nottingham Forest," Keane said. "But don't overthink it. It's Liverpool at home to West Ham.

"Momentum? West Ham are fourth bottom. What momentum have they got? That's great momentum, that. They'll be in the Champions League next year."
