Manchester United is on the lookout for a new manager after firing Ruben Amorim on Monday, and it's claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on a return to Old Trafford

It's claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to return to Manchester United as the club steps up its search for Ruben Amorim's replacement.
United parted company with the Portuguese boss on Monday, following 14 months at the helm. The announcement followed Amorim's explosive press conference after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Leeds at Elland Road, where he said: "I came here to be the manager of Manchester United, not to be the coach of Manchester United. That is clear."
The search for Amorim's successor is now underway. Darren Fletcher will take caretaker charge for Wednesday's Premier League clash against newly-promoted Burnley at Turf Moor.

Reports indicate that former manager Solskjaer would be open to stepping in on a short-term basis.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the Norwegian has "shown interest" in taking charge, regardless of how long a potential contract might last.

Solskjaer has been out of management since leaving Besiktas in the summer.
The former striker was at the helm of United for nearly three years, initially as caretaker before being given the job permanently. His spell at the club lasted from December 2018 to November 2021.
During his tenure, he presided over 168 matches, clinching 91 victories, drawing 37 times, and enduring 40 defeats. His final match at the helm ended in a 4-1 away loss to Watford in the Premier League.
Whether United will take up Solskjaer's offer is yet to be determined. It's understood that United is comfortable with Fletcher stepping up for more than just one game as the club contemplates potential successors to Amorim.
Consequently, it's thought the Red Devils are not rushing to make any definitive decision.
Several other candidates have been suggested for the open position, including Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner. The Austrian has made quite a mark at Selhurst Park, leading the Eagles to their first major trophy by securing the FA Cup last season.
Following their encounter with Burnley, United will shift its focus to the FA Cup, hosting Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The team then welcomes Manchester City for the derby on Saturday, 17 January.
