Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke about Ederson after the 4-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League

Pep Guardiola is still not sure on Ederson's future with two weeks of the transfer window to go.
The Manchester City keeper missed the first Premier League of the season with reported gastroenteritis and it remains to be seen whether he has played his last game for the club. Galatasaray are looking to strike a deal for the Brazilian, with City not denying interest in Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma over the last week as a potential replacement.
Guardiola said he had not spoken to sporting director Hugo Viana since his last press conference so could not give any other updates, but reiterated the stance that he has stuck to throughout his career. Unhappy players are free to leave, as long as they bring an offer good enough for their club to agree to let them go.
"Today I don’t have info. Yesterday I saw his illness, gastroenteritis and after I didn’t speak with Hugo in the club," Guardiola said.
"I've always had my theory that if the player wants to leave he has to leave - but on the conditions of the club. There’s no sense if he’s not happy here but since I was in Barcelona I always thought about that. But the final decision and the way to make the deal belongs 100 per cent to the club so I don’t know what will happen in the next two weeks."

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
As City look to hold onto Ederson, they may have discovered another weapon for the season. The Blues looked clinical on the counter at Wolves and Guardiola said that they will be looking to use that more in this campaign with the pace of Oscar Bobb and Tijjani Reijnders added to the team.
"The second half we were away from where we want to be, but it’s normal for the first game," he said "We trained a lot and just played two games - not much.
"But I liked many things and the second half Wolves were a bit better. We punished them on transitions because we have incredible place with Oscar, Tijjani and Erling. It’s a weapon that we want to use this season to attack quicker than we did before but for the first game it’s always a little bit how will be the team.
"It is always a struggle here. I’m really pleased for that."
