Pep Guardiola has changed his stance on Ederson starting in goal over the last week amid uncertainty over the goalkeeper's future

Pep Guardiola admitted doubts over Ederson's future at Manchester City as he refused to confirm he would start against Tottenham.
Ederson has been City's No.1 for eight years but interest from Galatasaray in signing him this summer has intensified over the last fortnight.
Guardiola insisted that Ederson would start the Premier League opener against Wolves last weekend, only for the Brazilian to be struck down with gastroenteritis in the minutes between that claim and City getting on the bus to travel to Molineux.
James Trafford played instead, and impressed with a clean sheet on his debut for the club he has re-joined after two years at Burnley.
Ederson has trained all week and is available to start against Spurs on Saturday. However, a week on Guardiola was unwilling to make the same promise that his No.1 would be playing as long as he was fit.
"We see tomorrow, we see who trains good. We’ll talk with Xabi [Mancisidor, goalkeeping coach] and we’ll see," he said.
"It’s happened at all the clubs that until after next weekend, after Brighton, when the transfer window is over then 'Okay, now it starts'.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £192 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.
Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
"To be honest, I don’t know what is happening with a few players – I don’t know who is coming, who is staying, who is leaving. I don’t know.
"All the clubs I had the feeling that it is the same, we are not an exception. Because the agents make his role, the club have their opinions, the players have theirs, and after that we see what happens."
Ederson is not the only player whose future at the club is in doubt. Saturday's opponents Spurs are trying to sign winger Savinho, who has come down with a mystery injury that will see him miss his second game of the season this weekend.
Galatasaray also want to sign Manu Akanji, who was an unused substitute at Wolves and City did not immediately dismiss interest from the Turkish club. Ilkay Gundogan's future has also been mooted in recent days as possibly being away from City as Guardiola looks to bring the numbers down in his squad.
