Pep Guardiola looked exasperated after Manchester City was denied a penalty during the first half of the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.

Rayan Cherki went down in the box under a challenge from Milos Kerkez, and the Frenchman furiously appealed for a penalty.

Replays showed clear contact between the legs of the two players, but the video assistant referee was satisfied that there was nothing untoward and did not recommend an on-field review.

TV cameras showed Guardiola reacting to the non-decision furiously, as he threw his arms up after seeing a replay of the incident on a screen behind him.

Guardiola is serving the second-game of a two-game touchline ban that was handed down to him after he was booked for the sixth time this season during City's FA Cup fifth-round win over Newcastle last month.
