PSG Expert Issues True Feelings on Daniel Muñoz Rumor Amid Barcelona Link

PSG star Achraf Hakimi was forced off the field on November 4 in the match against Bayern Munich after a hard tackle from Luis Díaz left him unable to stand on his left foot.

The Parisians later announced that he is out for several weeks, but they did not offer a clear timeline for his recovery. With the winter window on the horizon and the Morocco defender unavailable, the club may begin to feel the effects of not adding depth at right back sooner.

Julian Capera of ESPN Colombia recently noted that PSG have been keeping an eye on Daniel Muñoz. Mundo Deportivo has also reported that Barcelona see Muñoz as an option at roughly €30 million.

Any transfer would depend on Muñoz’s preference, Crystal Palace’s willingness to negotiate, and whether interested clubs can present a strong proposal. Even so, it appears one potential suitor may be stepping back as the winter window nears.

Amid the rumors linking Muñoz to the Parisians, PSG expert Robin Bairner shared his thoughts on the Parisians pursuing the Colombian standout during the winter transfer window.

“One name who has been linked with PSG is Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz,” Bairner wrote in his latest column for Ensemble PSG. “Stylistically, he’s a great fit. There are a few players who can replace Hakimi, who, for my money, was the best player in the world last season. The Colombian, though, has been the Premier League’s standout right-back this season by a street.

“While some critics might point to his age of 29 as being an issue, this could play into PSG’s hands. Yes, it’s not the usual profile of a player who has arrived at Parc des Princes, but equally, Muñoz is a player who would have a short-term job. His role would be to act as backup to Hakimi for the next two or three years before Boly fully emerges.”
