PSG Get Brutal News as Real Madrid Push Hard for €150M-Rated Star

Xabi Alonso is approaching the midpoint of the first season in charge at Real Madrid, a stretch that has given a clear sense of the roster and where upgrades are required. Reinforcing the midfield has emerged as a priority, with reports linking the club to a potential move for a PSG standout.

Any deal would come with complications. PSG relied heavily on a midfield trio of Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, and João Neves during a dominant 2024-25 run that delivered Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League, and the Coupe de France.

That said, a sizeable offer from Madrid could test PSG’s resolve and open the door for discussions with the player about a possible exit from Paris.

The latest information on this file comes from Fichajes, who reported on Monday that Real Madrid is making a significant move in the transfer market, planning a €150 million bid for Vitinha.

Under Alonso’s direction, Madrid have stressed the need for a midfielder who can bring creativity, composure, and vision in possession, traits they see in Vitinha. If the plan holds, the move would be aimed for the summer of 2026.

Real Madrid are often mentioned as the leading suitor for the former FC Porto maestro. That trend was reinforced by Defensa Central, which reported that the club’s leadership has sounded out Jorge Mendes, who also happens to be Vitinha’s agent.

Even though PSG’s No. 17 recently extended the contract through 2029, Real Madrid believe there is still room to convince the midfielder’s inner circle, given that the Vila das Aves native remains on the radar.

The Spanish outlet adds that Real Madrid are placing significant emphasis on Jorge Mendes to advance the deal. “A key figure could help facilitate Vitinha’s transfer,” the report claims, a suggestion that naturally puts PSG on alert.

“Vitinha’s agent is Jorge Mendes, which could prove decisive for the midfielder’s future,” journalist Borja Diaz explains (h/t Foot01). “It is important to remember that, when it comes to moving players, his primary objective is profit. A transfer of Vitinha to Real Madrid could therefore benefit him.”

Moreover, he believes Mendes could apply pressure in the coming months to push for a move, motivated by the prospect of earning a sizable commission. That scenario fuels hope at Real Madrid of landing the Portuguese playmaker as early as next summer.

Still, PSG remain confident and firmly in control of the situation. With Vitinha under contract until 2029, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has no reason to feel concerned or to yield to any approach from Real Madrid or another club.
