PSG claimed a 2-0 win over RC Lens on Sunday to stay on top of Ligue 1, but the victory came at a cost with injuries further testing their depth early in the 2025-26 season.
The timing is far from ideal, with the UEFA Champions League getting underway this week. PSG face a daunting draw, starting with high-profile clashes against Bayern Munich and Barcelona. Tottenham Hotspur are also in the group, setting up an immediate rematch of their fiery Super Cup encounter just weeks ago.
The challenges don’t end there. Newcastle United and Athletic Bilbao bring added competition, while Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta, and Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon complete PSG’s league-phase schedule.
Did PSG Only Get an Injury Scare?

Still, early reports suggest at least two of the injuries may not be as serious as initially feared.
Le Parisien reports that Kvicha Kvaratskhelia underwent medical tests following the match against Lens. The results were encouraging, showing the Georgian had only picked up a knock. That means he could still be available for PSG’s Champions League clash with Atalanta.

Meanwhile, RMC Sport notes that Lee Kang-In is dealing with nothing serious and is expected back on Tuesday, a positive sign for PSG.

PSG will face Atalanta on September 17, but all eyes are on the October 1 matchup against Barcelona. Nonetheless, with Lee and Kvaratskhelia seeing positive signs, it will be interesting to see if they can play in both these matches.
