PSG, Real Madrid Target Confirmed to Have Clear Warning From Liverpool

Ibrahima Konaté is entering the final year of his Liverpool contract, and with no new deal agreed upon, speculation about his future at Anfield is growing, particularly with PSG monitoring the situation.

Foot Mercato reported that several top European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, have shown interest in Konaté. Last summer, Liverpool opted to keep him rather than entertain potential offers.

More recently, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna revealed that Real Madrid no longer see Konaté as a priority, turning their attention to Dayot Upamecano, with a verbal agreement already in place. Despite that, PSG’s interest remains, and Konaté still has the option to extend his stay at Liverpool.

Ahead of the winter transfer window, in which Konaté can agree to a pre-contract with any club, transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri of Sky Sport shared the latest regarding the Frenchman.

“At Liverpool, Ibrahima Konaté’s situation is now clear: the proposal on the table will be the last one offered by the Reds, who feel they have been very generous with the Frenchman, who in recent months has made several signals of interest toward Real Madrid… still very much flirting with the French team’s rock,” Tavolieri wrote.

“If Konaté accepts the proposed terms, he will become one of the highest-paid players in the squad led by Arne Slot, a sign of the complete trust placed in him. More than ever, the Frenchman must make a choice: accept what he has or wait to get what he has always wanted, namely the chance to play for the Merengues.”

A previous CaughtOffside report noted that Liverpool have given Konaté a clear final choice: take their latest contract proposal or be moved in the January transfer window.

The report also added that Liverpool does not plan to let the matter linger. They are ready to move Konaté and have Marc Guehi lined up as a possible replacement this month.

If Konaté turns down this latest offer, Liverpool does not intend to make any additional proposals, viewing this deal as enough to place him among their top earners.
