Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté has yet to sign a contract extension with the Reds, resulting in transfer rumors linking him to PSG and Real Madrid.
Diario AS recently reported that Real Madrid are interested in signing Konaté this summer, but only if Liverpool are willing to lower their asking price. The Spanish side are reportedly prepared to offer between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool are holding firm at a valuation of at least €50 million.
Real Madrid have no plans to meet that price, especially with Konaté already expressing a desire to join the club. They’re willing to wait until 2026, when he would be available on a free transfer.
According to a previous report from Foot Mercato, Konaté has already been offered to several top clubs—including Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona—potentially setting up a move once his contract expires.

The Reds could be facing the reality of losing Konaté and Defensa Central reports that Liverpool manager Arne Slot has asked the club to pursue Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi if Konaté joins Real Madrid. Guehi, like Konaté, is under contract until June 2026 and is reportedly not planning to renew.
Moreover, the report claims that Guehi would be open to moving to Anfield, and Liverpool would use Konaté’s potential sale fee to fund the deal. Real Madrid view Konaté as a key addition to strengthen their defense for the 2025-2026 season.
