Another record for Paris. There was only one team in this Ligue 1 Classique. An impressive performance from the Parisians, Paris Saint-Germain’s best match this season.

The Parisian club completely outclassed Olympique de Marseille, with Ousmane Dembélé one of the architects of this masterclass. What an exceptional performance from the Ballon d’Or winner! He scored twice in the first half, with Nuno Mendes pulling the ball back to Dembélé, who beat De Lange with a right-footed shot (1-0, 12′).

Paris dominated the first half, and Dembélé put on a show for his second goal. The French international dribbled past Balerdi, shook off Medina’s marking, and beat De Lange with a right-footed shot under the bar (2-0, 37′). A Ballon d’Or goal! In the second half, PSG rolled on, scoring three more goals.

João Neves accelerated down the left wing and crossed the ball in, with Medina scoring an own goal with his head (3-0, 64′). Two minutes later, and four minutes after coming on as a substitute, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored with a magnificent volley from Dembélé’s pass (4-0, 66′). Kang-In Lee also got in on the action, scoring the final goal of the match with his left foot (5-0, 74′).

The icing on the cake was that 5-0 is a new record for PSG against OM. Paris Saint-Germain had never beaten OM by a five-goal margin before. With this victory, PSG also secured their sixth consecutive win against Marseille at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1 (2-1 on 17th April 2022, 1-0 on October 16 2022, 4-0 on 24th September 2023, 3-1 on 16 March 2025, and 3-0 on 8 February 2026).

PSG now has 51 points with this 16th victory of the season in Ligue 1 and is two points ahead of Lens, which beat Rennes 3-1 one day earlier. Paris Saint-Germain also recorded its seventh consecutive Ligue 1 victory (5-0 Rennes, Metz 2-3, 2-1 Paris FC, 3-0 Lille, Auxerre 0-1, Strasbourg 1-2).

It’s the return of the great Paris for a historic match. This bodes very well for PSG in what is a crucial month of February.
