Ibrahima Konaté is in the final few months of his Liverpool contract without an extension in place, and with rumors connecting him to PSG.
As a result, the Premier League club have a decision to make whether they try to sell him during the January window, continue pushing for an extension, or concede that he will leave as a free agent.
Foot Mercato reported earlier that several major European clubs have kept tabs on him, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona. Liverpool chose to keep Konaté last summer rather than listen to potential offers.
According to a previous report from The Athletic, Real Madrid’s long-standing interest has cooled in recent months, with inconsistency cited as a factor in their decision. Nonetheless, with the player yet to sign a contract extension with Liverpool, could the Premier League club entertain offers for him?
Liverpool are looking at Ibrahima Konaté Alternative

With Konaté possibly on his way out, transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri says Liverpool are eyeing Jérémy Jacquet as a potential solution to replace the struggling defender.
Arsenal had shown interest in Jacquet during the summer but ultimately chose not to pursue him, going ahead with signings of Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié instead.
Moreover, Football Insider reports that Liverpool have set the asking price for Konaté, who could leave after this season. According to the outlet, the Reds are asking for around £15 million.
Despite Real Madrid’s interest in the Liverpool standout fading, Everton’s former CEO, Keith Wyness, believes Konaté could attract interest from both Bayern Munich and PSG.

“Well, Konaté is an interesting one,” Wyness told Football Insider. “I mean, he’s had this dip in form which you would possibly attribute to the fact that he’s had his head turned, and he was already focusing on Real Madrid, etc.
“So that could have explained some of the dip in form. But certainly that dip in form has been very apparent. And I’ve spoken to a lot of my Liverpool friends who are saying that he has been really well below par, you know, whether this whole, if they’re able to resolve the contract situation and then, you know, getting back on track.
“He has shown that he can be a quality player at some stage, but I still believe there’s Bayern and PSG out there as well who might be more interested as well. So it isn’t just around Madrid.”
