Louis Saha has admitted that the football fan in him wants to see more of what one Tottenham Hotspur star produced against Copenhagen.
Spurs’ thumping win against Copenhagen would have been forgotten quickly under normal circumstances, given the number of games that are played these days.
However, one moment of magic ensured that the game would be remembered for a long time. Micky van de Ven firmly put his name up for the Puskas Award by running the length of the pitch before finishing expertly.
Even rival fans are in awe of what Van de Ven produced, especially so soon after Tottenham went down to ten men, and so is one former Spurs man.

Louis Saha loves watching Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven
The irony is that the Dutchman made an error against Chelsea, trying to carry the ball out from the defence, which resulted in the Blues scoring.
Saha admitted that he was critical of Van de Ven for trying to do that, but confessed that the way the 24-year-old plays is what he wants to see more of in the game.
The Frenchman told OLBG about Van de Ven’s goal: “It’s always nice to see defenders with this kind of ability moving forward. I love football, so I want to see those types of dribbling, those types of goals, those types of performances from him and from the opposition as well.
“I just obviously asked him not to do that over the weekend, but it’s good to see those kinds of abilities. He’s able to really provide a type of energy to his team, and as a captain, doing it is unbelievable.
“He’s a player who, when he’s engaged and committed with pace, he’s unstoppable. He has a brain as well, and that goal, whether it’s in the Champions League or the Premier League, even the Puskas award, is not enough! He deserves way more credit than that.”
Spurs have a clear Van de Ven plan
It has been reported that Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham is now focused on tying Van de Ven down to a new contract.
A few days ago, a report in The Telegraph said that Spurs want to offer Van de Ven a bumper pay rise commiserate with his value to the squad.
The same report asserted that internally at Tottenham, the belief is that they have the best centre-back pairing in the Premier League.
